Thankful. That’s the simple word that comes to mind when I reflect on the life I’ve been given. As I began to build out this blog, I wanted to start with this theme as the foundation. I have much to be thankful for, and as I write I hope to give you a window into what I’m learning.
Thankfulness is one of those things that is more of an attitude to maintain than something defined by circumstances. One of the most challenging things I’ve read is this simple line: “give thanks in all circumstances.” All circumstances, really? It’s easy when you feel on top of life, or when you’re sitting around a food-filled table at Thanksgiving dinner; but how about when you’re lying sick in bed, struggling financially or mourning the loss of a loved one?
